STARCOM debuts new combat readiness exercise in BLACK SKIES 22

Space Training and Readiness Command completed its first iteration of the inaugural SKIES exercise series aimed at improving the U.S. Space Force’s command and control capabilities. The exercise, BLACK SKIES 22, which ran from Sept. 19-23, was a live simulation exercise designed to rehearse the command and control of multiple joint electronic warfare fires.

NRO, NSA leaders visit NSDC

Joint Task Force-Space Defense leaders met with Dr. Troy E. Meink, principal deputy director of the National Reconnaissance Office and George C. Barnes, deputy director and senior civilian leader of the National Security Agency at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, Aug. 31, 2022. Key personnel from both organizations visited the JTF-SD and its National Space Defense Center to receive a mission brief. The JTF-SD, and its NSDC, provide unprecedented unity of effort with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and NRO to protect and defend against threats in the space domain. HON Calvelli visits JTF-SD
