Department of the Air Force expands potential basing locations for USSPACECOM headquarters

Washington, D.C. (AFNS) — With the establishment of the United States Space Force, the Department of the Air Force, in coordination with the Office of Secretary of Defense, is announcing its revised approach for determining the permanent location of U.S. Space Command headquarters.

Next X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle Scheduled to Launch

WASHINGTON (AFNS) — The Department of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office, in partnership with the U.S. Space Force, is scheduled to launch the sixth mission of the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV-6) on May 16 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.

Army space capability contributes to National Guard’s pandemic fight

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. — One might not associate an Army space capability and its developers as a key asset supporting the National Guard’s nationwide fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, but that is exactly what is occurring right now. This capability has a distinctive name, too: DAART.

U.S. Army Col. Richard L. Zellmann recognizes the importance of the space domain and the need for Army representation in joint space operations. He is currently serving as the deputy chief of staff for U.S. Space Command's Strategy, Plans and Policy Directorate, and was recently confirmed by the U.S. Senate for promotion to brigadier general.
