Army space embraces major changes as new battlefield emerges

After Capt. Robert Franchino attended the basic course for Army space cadre, the military intelligence officer was hooked. "It lit a fire," he said. "I was interested and engaged the entire time, and I just knew I wanted to be involved in space operations somehow in the military for the rest of my career." Now a space operations officer through U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense School's Functional Area 40 qualification course, Franchino said he's excited about the work.

USSPACECOM expands key allied space partnerships through multi-nation operations

National security in the space domain continues to expand its operational coordination and capabilities between the U.S. Space Command and allied nations. A multi-national space force, a strategic defense partnership between several nations including the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, operate together at the Combined Space Operations Center. Additional nations collaborating on space operations with the CSpOC include Germany, France and New Zealand.

Deputy SecDef, SecAF meet with Space leaders, joint warfighters on Front Range

Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist and Secretary of the Air Force Barbara Barrett completed their first official trips to Peterson AFB to learn about military space operations from U.S. Space Command and Air Force Space Command leaders and space operators Nov. 1.This was the first time Norquist and Barrett toured the National Space Defense
