REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. — Lt. Col. Anne McClain received the Army astronaut device from Gen. James Dickinson, commander of U.S. Space Command, during a Nov. 10 ceremony at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

CFSCC welcomes new commander, high expectations set for combined space operations

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Just over a year after its activation, the Combined Force Space Component Command welcomed its newest commander in front of a mask-donned gathering of CFSCC staff, community members, partner-nation representatives and others during change of command ceremony at the Combined Space Operations Center. Maj. Gen. DeAnna Burt assumed command of the multinational, joint space operations arm of U.S. Space Command from Maj. Gen. John Shaw, who is set to receive his third star and move to Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, to be the deputy commander for USSPACECOM.

Marine Corps commandant directs activation of space service component

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — Gen. David H. Berger, Commandant of the Marine Corps, directed the activation of a new Marine Corps forces command subordinate to the newest unified combatant command, United States Space Command.

U.S. Space Command hosted a U.S. Marine Corps birthday celebration Nov. 6 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. In attendance were U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, USSPACECOM commander; Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Joseph Matos, USSPACECOM command, control, communications, computers and cyber director; and Master Gunnery Sgt. Scott Stalker, USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader. Also participating were current and former Marines serving in USSPACECOM headquarters. The U.S. Marine Corps turned 245 years old Nov. 10, 2020.

Space warfighters celebrate USMC's 245th birthday

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — U.S. Space Command hosted a U.S. Marine Corps birthday celebration Nov. 6, 2020, at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Representatives from participating nations virtually attended the Americas Space Conference from their respective countries Nov. 4-5, 2020. In this historic event, five nations of the Americas gathered to focus on coordination, cooperation and collaboration for space research and development opportunities. The conference, co-hosted by U.S. Space Command, U.S. Southern Command and the U.S. Space Force, included space defense experts from the U.S., Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
