JTF-SD recognizes 2 years of operations, wins

SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — It has been two years since U.S. Space Command leaders recognized the establishment of Joint Task Force-Space Defense in a ceremony at now-Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. During the interim, JTF-SD has set out to execute its mission to conduct, in unified action with mission partners, space superiority operations to deter aggression, defend capability and defeat adversaries throughout the continuum of conflict.

PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, commander of U.S. Space Command, and U.S. Space Force Brig. Gen. Dennis Bythewood, deputy commander of Joint Task Force-Space Defense, hosted Sen. Michael Bennet and Rep. Jason Crow, both from Colorado, on Oct. 15, 2021. Leaders from USSPACECOM and JTF-SD briefed Bennet and Crow on threats to the space domain, current space domain awareness capabilities and plans the newest combatant command has to protect and defend the space domain.

James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, met with Ajay Kumar, Defence Secretary, India Ministry of Defence, on Oct. 9 to discuss advancing U.S.-India space cooperation in critical topics such as space situational awareness and responsible behavior in space.
