USSPACECOM Command Surgeon hosts Inaugural Joint Medical Forum

U.S. Air Force Col. Ingrid Ford, U.S. Space Command command surgeon, hosted the inaugural Joint Space Medicine Forum, at the Leadership Development Center, April 27-28, 2022. The Joint Space Medicine Forum’s intent is to form relationships, share information and collaborate across the services and government agencies to further establish and develop Space Medicine education and training in the DoD.

65th Cyberspace Squadron rises to the challenge to protect CFSCC, CSpOC from cyber threats

When the 614th Air and Space Communications Squadron was re-designated on June 23, 2021 as the 65th Cyberspace Squadron, it did not simply denote a name change. Rather, it signified an expanded mission and new responsibilities beyond repairing and maintaining communications equipment for the Combined Force Space Component Command (CFSCC) and Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), to a more aggressive and forward-looking organization that also heavily focuses on cyber defense.

Vice President Kamala Harris visits Vandenberg, makes historic announcement furthering national security norms in space

During her first-ever visit to Vandenberg Space Force Base April 18, 2022, Vice President Kamala Harris announced the United States commits not to conduct destructive, direct-ascent anti-satellite (ASAT) missile testing in an effort to encourage more responsible behavior in space. She made the announcement during an all-call in front of more than 200 members of the Space Force and Air Force.
