Army space, air domains partner to deliver close space support

FORT CARSON, Colo. — In a recent exercise involving U.S. Army Chinook and Black Hawk helicopters, the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command’s 1st Space Brigade, 4th Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade and U.S. Marine Corps Forces Space Command demonstrated rapid deployment of personnel and tactical space systems to provide close space support on the battlefield.

Commander, US Transportation Command meets with Deputy Commander, US Space Command

PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — Air Force Gen. Randall Reed, commander, U.S. Transportation Command, met with Army Lt. Gen. Thomas James, deputy commander, U.S. Space Command, at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, Feb. 6.

A joint delegation of U.S. and Japanese military and civilian representatives watch as a U.S. space domain awareness payload hosted on Japan's Quasi-Zenith Satellite 6 (QZS-6) successfully launched on a Japanese H-3 launch vehicle from the Yoshinobu Launch Complex at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s (JAXA) Tanegashima Space Center (TNSC) on February 3, 2025. This is the first bilateral U.S.-Japan cooperative space effort focused on national security, and the first of two launches as part of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System Hosted Payload (QZSS-HP). Tanegashima Space Center, Kagoshima, Japan (AFNS) — A U.S. space domain awareness payload hosted on Japan's Quasi-Zenith Satellite 6 successfully launched on a Japanese H-3 launch vehicle from the Yoshinobu Launch Complex at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s Tanegashima Space Center in Japan on Feb. 2.
