Leadership of the Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region – First Air Force (Air Forces Northern and Air Forces Space) changed hands during a change of command ceremony, March 31,2023 at Tyndall AFB, Fla. Gen. Steven S. Nordhaus assumed command of CONR-1AF (AFNORTH & AFSPACE) from Lt. Gen. Kirk S. Pierce. Gen. Glen D. VanHerck, commander of NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, Gen. James H. Dickinson, commander of U.S. Space Command, and Gen. Mark D. Kelly, commander of Air Combat Command, presided over the ceremony.
