LANPAC: Army commander leads USSPACECOM against space domain threats

HONOLULU — Adversaries have continually found ways to threaten the Army and U.S. forces, not only from the land air, and sea but through space. “The threat is growing,” said Army Gen. James Dickinson commander of U.S. Space Command at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. “It's [rising] in numbers and more complexities than ever before, and the joint force must have relevant and timely [assets] for space superiority.”

The collaborative efforts between the Chilean Air Force, U.S. Southern Command, and U.S. Space Command to advance combined space domain awareness, came to fruition when the half-meter class telescope, typically referred to as a “Raven-class” telescope, was implemented on Cerro Moreno Air Base in Antofagasta, Chile, on March 27, 2023.
