USSPACECOM CSEL hosts senior enlisted leader summit 2023

U.S. Space Command

U.S. Space Command hosted more than 15 senior enlisted leaders from across the command during the 3rd Annual Senior Enlisted Leaders’ Summit at various military facilities around Colorado Springs, Colo., Nov. 6-9, 2023.

“The theme for the four-day summit was ‘Vector, Velocity, and Victory,' designed to arm senior enlisted leaders with joint warfighting concepts. Our crosstalk emphasized space superiority, interdependent operations, and the national instruments of power, steepening our appreciation for the application of space effects and how the capabilities of this combatant command underpin our modern way of warfare and our modern way of life.” said U.S. Space Force Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader.

27 subject matter experts reinforced the “why,” elevating the senior enlisted leaders’ understanding of the different aspects of the USSPACECOM mission and strategic vision. “We specifically underscored how the command supports and engages in unconventional and irregular warfare through the confluence of special operations, cyber, and space mission sets.” said Simmons.

“With the fast pace and ever-changing environment, events like this summit are important in providing relevant information and opportunities to network with our joint partners.” said Chief Master Sgt. Denny Richardson, Air Forces Space and Air Forces North command senior enlisted leader. Richardson added that because of the nature and changes to the space domain, senior enlisted leaders need to be involved with important decisions that will shape the future force.

The key objective that Simmons wanted to pass on to the attendees was the imperative for senior enlisted leaders to understand and own their battlespace.
USSPACECOM, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.
