SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. –
U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, met with Rep. Jim Cooper, of Tennessee's 5th congressional district, and Rep. Michael Waltz, of Florida's 6th congressional district, during their visit to Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, on Oct. 14.
The congressmen, members of the House Armed Services Committee, met with leaders from USSPACECOM and Joint Task Force-Space Defense to discuss the newest combatant command’s mission to protect and defend the space domain.
USSPACECOM conducts operations in, from, and to space to deter conflict, and if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint and Combined force, and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners.
