Right, Lt. Gen. Richard Zellmann, deputy commander, U.S. Space Command, joins Lt. Gen. Tom James, former deputy commander, USSPACECOM, as he pins the U.S. Army Basic Space Badge on Maj. Gen. Paul Tedman, commander, U.K. Space Command, during a pinning ceremony at the Aerospace Corporation in Colorado Springs, November 7, 2025. Tedman is the first British Army officer to earn and receive the honor. As the U.K. Space Commander, Tedman plays a key role in the U.S.-U.K. space partnership, facilitating direct communication, collaboration, and alignment of strategic objectives between the two commands. The integration of allies and partners into space operations promotes a common warfighting culture and ensures our steadfast, collective readiness to deter aggression and, if necessary, stand shoulder-to-shoulder and defeat threats.
