Whiting, and Kazeki met in Tokyo during Whiting’s first international visit to the Indo-Pacific region as the USSPACECOM commander in 2024, where he received an update on the QZSS Hosted Payload, a pathfinding national security space cooperation initiative between the U.S. and Japan. USSPACECOM, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.
