USSPACECOM ‘Partners to Win’ at NATO’s First Space Symposium
Lt. Gen. Thomas James, USSPACECOM deputy commander, provides closing remarks during the inaugural NATO Space Symposium in Toulouse, France, April 30, 2024. James was invited to represent the command during a panel earlier in the symposium titled “The Importance of Space for the Future of NATO’s Deterrence and Defense”, and also provided a keynote speech to close the two days of discussion. During his closing, he underscored the criticality of NATO’s collective efforts and commended their attention on space as essential to everyday life. The symposium brought together approximately 300 attendees from across 27 of the 32 Allied nations, representing defense, industry and academic communities, who focused on the symposium’s overall theme, “Deterrence, Defence and Resilience in and through the Space Domain.” The historic symposium was hosted by the NATO Headquarters International Military Staff and Allied Command Transformation.
