USSPACECOM hosts NNSA Principal Deputy Administrator
U.S. Space Force Gen. Stephen Whiting, U.S. Space Command commander, welcomed National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Principal Deputy Administrator, Frank Rose, to Colorado Springs, Colorado, April 2, 2024. During the visit, PDA Rose and Gen. Whiting discussed mutual NNSA and USSPACECOM priorities in advancing integrated defense and deterrence, and the enduring relationship between NNSA and the Department of Defense’s combatant commands. Gen. Whiting underscored USSPACECOM’s mission, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats. PDA Rose highlighted the role that NNSA and its Nuclear Security Enterprise play in space monitoring and verification; space-based nuclear detonation detection; and cyber security in the space domain.
