Ceremony recognizes C/JFSCC designation, deactivates CFSCC, JTF-SD
U.S. Army General James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, presents a memorandum to Space Force Lt. Gen. Douglas Schiess, Space Forces-Space commander, designating Schiess as the Combined Joint Force Space Component Commander during a ceremony at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., Jan. 8, 2024. The ceremony also deactivated the Combined Force Space Component Command and Joint Task Force-Space Defense, realigning the joint responsibilities under Schiess as the CJFSCC.
