Lt. Gen. John Shaw, Deputy Commander, U.S. Space Command, meets with members of the West Space Seminar, which is named for Dr. Gladys B. West, who was instrumental in the field of satellite geodesy and the extraordinary precision of today’s Global Positioning System, during a visit to Air War College. During his time with the West Space Seminar, Shaw discussed topics such as norms of behavior for space, USSPACECOM’s role in Integrated Deterrence, and changes to the space domain driven by competitors. USSPACECOM was established as the 11th combatant command to deliver space effects to the warfighter and protect and defend the space domain.
