U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, greets Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks during a visit to USSPACECOM headquarters Dec. 13 at Peterson Space Force, Colorado. Hicks is on a five-stop tour of military installations to examine integrated deterrence and how the Department of Defense thinks about space and cyber and the resiliency of the United States. Senior USSPACECOM leaders briefed Hicks on threats to the space domain, integrated deterrence and the use of artificial intelligence throughout the command. USSPACECOM conducts operations in, from and to space to deter conflict, and if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint and Combined force and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners.
