U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, and U.S. Space Force Brig. Gen. Dennis Blythewood, Joint Task Force-Space Defense deputy commander, met with U.S. Rep. Jason Crow of Colorado and U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado on Oct. 15 at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. Crow and Bennet met with leaders from USSPACECOM and JTF-SD to discuss the newest combatant command’s mission to protect and defend the space domain. Crow serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Bennet serves on the Senate Select Committees on Intelligence and Finance. USSPACECOM conducts operations in, from, and to space to deter conflict, and if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint and Combined force, and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners.
