JTF-SD commander named Army’s first Space Operations 2-star

Newly promoted U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Tom James, Joint Task Force-Space Defense commander, accepts his garrison cap with his new rank from his mother, Joan James, during his promotion ceremony at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, on Aug. 10. This ceremony marked the first time a U.S. Army Space Operations officer was promoted to major general.
