Army unit wins Omaha Trophy for strategic deterrence
A formation of 100th Missile Defense Brigade Soldiers stands behind Navy Rear Adm. William W. "Trey" Wheeler III, U.S. Strategic Command chief of staff; Col. Michael Hatfield, commander, 100th Missile Defense Brigade; Sgt. Maj. Jeremy Christensen, operations senior noncommissioned officer for the 100th; and retired Vice Adm. Walter "Ted" Carter, president of the University of Nebraska, during a ceremony at U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command headquarters Nov. 19 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. This is the first time an Army unit and the first time an Army National Guard unit was presented with the Omaha Trophy, which recognizes outstanding support to the USSTRATCOM mission of strategic deterrence.
